Junior Elayna Burdelski has been a rock in goal for the Fox Chapel girls soccer team.
She posted a pair of shutouts last week and, aided by a stellar defense, she has nine shutouts. She also plays on the softball team.
“I prefer soccer,” she said. “I’d like to get the chance to continue playing when I decide on a college.”
She said the defenders in front of her have been crucial to the team’s success and the string of shutouts.
“It takes a team effort to win,” she said. “The girls have their sights set on being section champs and going further in the playoffs this season.”
