CHAMBERSBURG — Fox Chapel’s comeback effort came up short, and the Foxes lost to Springfield Delco, 2-1, in the PIAA soccer quarterfinals.
Two hard shots from Springfield Delco leading goal scorer Nick Janelli proved to be the difference.
Fox Chapel ended its season 19-3-1.
“I was happy with our performance tonight. The only shame of it was if we didn’t leave it out on the field,” said Fox Chapel coach Erik Ingram.
“But we left it out there, played well, but lost to a talented team that made the most of their chances.”
Springfield Delco (17-4-1) took advantage of their first quality scoring opportunity.
