Fox Chapel senior Emily Kiehn will stay in Pennsylvania to continue her rowing career next season.
Kiehn, 17, of Indiana Township signed a letter of intent to the Temple University women’s team, which is based in Philadelphia.
Kiehn said she considered Minnesota, Syracuse and Louisville before choosing the Owls.
“(It) was really important to be just a train ride away from my family,” she said.
Kiehn, a member of the Fox Chapel crew, was on a boat that placed fifth in the women’s high school varsity 8+ event at the Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championship regatta last spring.
