North Hills pulled away from Fox Chapel in the third quarter Friday to register a 27-13 Quad North win in the opener for both teams.

North Hills held a 6-0 lead at the half and padded its lead to 20-6 after three quarters.

The Foxes scored on a 39-yard run by Sean Chitambo in the third quarter and a 9-yard pass from Brendan Whelan to Connor Romango in the fourth.

“We’re disappointed in the outcome,” FC coach Tom Loughran said. “Our goal is to win, and we didn’t. We need to understand that winning is the standard.”

Loughran did see some positives in the loss.

“I thought our rush defense was very good,” he said
