Last season, Laurel Shymansky took gold in Hershey, as she and Lacey Cohen defeated North Allegheny’s Maddy Adams and Tina Li in three hard-fought sets in the PIAA Class AAA doubles title match.
On Saturday, Shymansky and Li once again squared off – with different partners – in the state championship. This time, however, it was Li who walked away with the gold.
Li and Eugenia Lee defeated Shymansky and freshman Amanda Nord, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, to win the state title.
