After scoring just two goals in Fox Chapel’s first six games of the season, Jonathan Rice notched four goals in its last four games prior to the holiday break.

And in Fox Chapel’s first game after Christmas Monday night against Chartiers Valley, Rice was back in scoring mode. Rice netted three goals, his first career hat trick at the high school level, to help the Foxes to a 6-5 victory over the Colts. Rice is second on the Foxes with nine goals and 10 assists, trailing Ben Friedland (11 goals, 13 assists) in both categories.

With Monday’s victory, Fox Chapel moved to 6-5 on the season and is tied for third in the Class AA Eastern Conference.
