Dan Taylor has taken over as the coach of the Fox Chapel swim team and he is optimistic about the team’s potential.
Last season, the girls were 7-1 in the section and were co-champions with Oakland Catholic. They ended up with a 9-4-1 mark. The boys went 2-6 in section and 3-11 overall.
The reason for the optimism is a large contingent of swimmers returning.
“We have the majority of both teams back from last season,” Taylor said. “There are 13 letterwinners back for the girls and eight for the boys. The girls have several returning WPIAL qualifiers, and the boys will have a lot of depth due to the large amount of boys we’ve had coming out for the team.”
