The crusted blood around his mouth and elsewhere on his face suggested Fox Chapel’s Andrew Kopco took a beating this weekend at the Allegheny County Wrestling Championships, but the junior 113-pounder gladly tolerated the punishment as a tradeoff for a shot at a title.
Kopco came up short of becoming the Foxes’ first county champion since 2009, but he considered his performance in the tournament at Fox Chapel a success after placing sixth in the weight class a season ago and spending most of this season at 120 pounds.
