Duke freshman basketball player Erin Mathias’ bucket list isn’t too complicated. But it’s getting smaller.
If the Fox Chapel graduate had her way, she’d spend a day with her idol, singer Taylor Swift, who has held her spellbound for years. Or, maybe she would throw an alley-oop pass to Blake Griffin, one of her favorite NBA players.
She said becoming an All-American also ranks high on the list, but another item became much more attainable when the Blue Devils made the Women’s NCAA Tournament again.
Now comes the payoff.
“This is something I always wanted to do,” said the 6-foot-4 Mathias. “Being in the tournament is awesome. Obviously, I’d love to get to the Final Four and win a championship in my four-year career here.”
