Background: Urban finished 12th at last year’s WPIAL Class AAA cross country championships. Since then she’s continued to train with vigor, earning an eight-place medal in the TSTCA indoor championship meet. Her personal record thus far in the outdoor season is 11:58, and she’s finished first in that event in both of her team’s meets. She’s also an outstanding student and musician, and one of the top students in her grade. She’s involved in the robotics program at Fox Chapel, as well.
Coach Tom Moul said: “Annika, while young, is one of the hardest workers on the team. She has really immersed herself in the training program and works hard to do everything right, including the little things that can be the difference between winning and not winning. She’s a pleasure to coach.”
