Tucker Root scored five goals, but the Fox Chapel boys lacrosse team dropped its first game, falling 11-9 to Pine-Richland on Wednesday in a Division I, Section 2 contest.
Levi McCrady added two goals and an assist for the Foxes (2-1, 1-1), and Andy Ream and Matt Hardiman scored one goal apiece. Dan Docimo made seven saves in net.
Scott Wilden and Jeremy Kennedy led the way for Pine-Richland (3-2, 1-1) with three goals each.
